Fall Summit

Our Fall Summit this year will focus on changing the Statement of Faith for the Rocky Mountain District.

In 2019 at EFCA One, the Evangelical Free Church changed the National EFCA doctrinal statement from “We believe in the premillennial return of Christ” to “We believe in the glorious return of Christ.

For the Rocky Mountain District of the EFCA to remain a recognized district in the association of the Evangelical Free Church of America, our doctrinal statement must match that of the National EFCA. The churches in the association are not required to change their doctrinal statement if they choose not to.

Our conference will be a time of presentation and discussion before holding a vote at the conference to officially change the RMD doctrinal statement. All churches in our association are allowed delegates to this conference to vote on this change, as outlined in the brochure which you can read and link to below.

We will be meeting at Fellowship Community Church in Centennial, CO on September 17 for this discussion and vote. The conference will begin at 9:30 A.M.

129th Annual Conference

Due to the Covid 19 international crisis, and in cooperation with the Center for Disease Control, by their standards and recommendations we deeply regret that our 129th Annual Conference has been cancelled.

I have been working with your District Leadership Team and our Annual Conference host church, Eaton Evangelical Free Church, trying to decide what is best for our churches and our district as we anticipate our 129th Annual Conference. The Center for Disease Control has suggested no large gatherings of people through sometime in May, and encouraged conference organizers to postpone or cancel any conferences between now and then.

Our District By-laws require us to hold our annual business meeting in April, which is also the beginning of our fiscal year. It is not wise or prudent for us to gather together in Eaton as planned April 28-29. We are, therefore, cancelling the training portion of our conference for 2020.

A letter has been mailed to you church on April 4 from the RMD office with the ballot for our District Leadership Team and the Annual Budget, both items which need to be passed or defeated by our conference. Your Lead Pastor will receive an email with the link for voting to be distributed to the delegates which your church has approved for the conference. nations for our District Leadership Team.

A third business item which is scheduled for our conference is voting on changing the Statement of Faith for the Rocky Mountain District. We want to allow ample time and discussion for this, but we do not have to make a decision on this until the end of 2020. Therefore, we will change the focus of our Fall Summit from a training conference to a business meeting, primarily for discussion and voting on this issue. The date of our Fall Summit is September 17 and will be hosted by Fellowship Community Church in Centennial, CO.

We will continue with our Healthy Church Network meetings, holding them virtually. You will receive a separate email with instructions on how to connect virtually on the normal day of the month and time that you meet in your region for our April Healthy Church network, since we will not be meeting for our annual conference.

Know that I am praying for each and every one of you, as well as for your church. Thank you to the scores who have already registered for the Annual Conference. If you paid online, a refund has been issued through PayPal to the account from which you submitted your payment.

The Lord will use this worldwide challenge to His honor and glory. You will be His ambassador of grace and hope as you take this challenge and use it to turn others to faith and grow closer to our eternal hope and promise. May He protect and encourage us in our faith, spiritual and physical health, as we continue to faithfully serve Him and lead others in His grace.

Rocky Mountain District Women

  • Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.   Eph 1:3-4

Come, Follow Me With Kendra Kammer

Friday, February 21 – Saturday, February 22.

What does it mean to follow Jesus under day-to-day pressures, in different stages of life, and when the world presses hard upon us?

Cheyenne Evangelical Free Church would like to invite you to their spring retreat with Kendra Kammer as she explores what it means when Jesus says, “Come, Follow Me.”

More information to follow. Contact Lela Ladd at lela.ladd@gmail.com. We would love to share the retreats and events happening around the district in lieu of a district-wide retreat in 2020. If your church is hosting a retreat/event that you would like to share with area churches, please email me the information at steph.smithgall@gmail. com and I will spread the word. It is good to be able to strengthen one another. Email Retreat Information

Theology of Rest

Are you tired, worn out, discouraged, overwhelmed, do you need a break? Are you having health issues? They might be the product of the above issues.
Do you “believe” in the science, theology and rhetoric of rest, but don’t have time to practice it?
Or, do you say you believe Scripture to be inerrant, but simply deny that truth by violating it’s teaching and principles?

Our 2019 Fall Training Summit is designed to address all of the above issues as we teach and give practical pathways to The Theology of Rest.

Our facilitators will be two Pastors in the Rocky Mountain District who have given some thought, study and discipling on the subject.

Kevin Boaz – Incline Church – Colorado Springs

Jeff Foote – Grace EFC – Longmont

Spend the day with us, September 26, from 9 AM – 3 PM at Bethany Evangelical Free Church, 6240 South Broadway, Centennial, CO. You will leave changed and challenged.

When completing Payment, A registration page will open. Please be certain to fill out that registration form, entering you into our name tag database.
