What
In The World Are We Doing?
Missions Mapping for the Rocky Mountain District
In the last PULSE I shared about
a Missions Mapping Project I was doing with the goal of presenting
the results at the RMD Annual Conference in April. With the help of many of you, I was able to substantially
complete the project and deliver copies at the April conference.
The
Mapping Project details all the countries where RMD churches support
missionaries or some form of ministry and then identifies all of the RMD churches that are engaged in each of
those countries. I was really blessed by seeing how the Lord in his sovereign direction has led churches to
their various areas of involvement around the world. One of the goals of this project is to increase the
networking between our RMD churches and encourage them to make missions connections with one another.
Some
summary data follows:
- RMD churches are involved in 80 different countries
around the world.
- Costa Rica has the most churches involved, at 20. These churches are split between the EFCA ReachGlobal LATN work and
the UNILIC work with Eduardo Castillo
- France has the second highest overseas involvement at
16 churches, while Ancient Paths Church in Denver has at least 17 RMD church partners.
- Not counting “creative access” countries, there are 24 countries where only one RMD church is engaged, providing plenty of
opportunity for new churches to team together.
- The RMD has 82 church/country connections in the
“creative access” countries of the world, 20 in East Asia and
25 in Southeast Asia. This is exciting to see our district
churches taking the gospel to these “least reached” peoples of the world.
I
will be sending this information to the Lead Pastor and Missions contact at all of our RMD churches. If you are
interested in receiving a copy as well for your own use, please contact me.
